H2B architects were asked to redesign and expand the existing Casino Bar for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. The design incorporated a fresh new image that would be appealing to their younger guests. The challenge was to create a space that was not overwhelming to the adjacent gaming floor, but still serve as a focal point that could be seen from both casino entrances. A curtain of stainless steel beads and color changing LED lights were used as a signage element mounted above the bar, creating subtle movement through the use of light and texture. Materials selected for the bar reflect a contemporary feel as requested by the owner including; glazed tile, blackened steel, black granite bar tops and dark mahogany-stained accent woodwork.
